Should I give a statement to the Florida property or business owner’s insurance company if I was injured in a slip and fall?

Transcription

I would advise clients to not give a statement to the insurance company. The reason being that any statement you give can be used against you later. In addition, the insurance company for the other side is literally on the other side. So, they are not interested in your best interests or trying to help you resolve your case the best way possible for you, they’re interested in paying out as little money as possible, which would benefit them. The more that they can keep, the better for them. So, it’s better not to give the statements, it’s better to have an attorney speak with them and have them speak on your behalf. Anything that your attorney says can be used against you, so again, I’d advise to not give a statement, especially not before speaking to an attorney.
