Is motorcycle accident law the same as car accident law?

Transcription

Actually, motorcycle accident law and car accident law is different. There are some very important differences. One thing, in auto accident insurance in Florida, it’s required that you have personal injury protection, which is $10,000 of benefits from your insurance. They will pay for your medical bills and lost wages, whether it was your fault or the other party’s fault. For motorcycles, it’s not possible to get personal injury protection. Beyond that, even if you have it for your car, not your motorcycle, you won’t be able to use it for your motorcycle accident. It’s not allowed. You can’t no matter what use it there. Another difference is that as far as wearing helmets that if you’re under the age of 21, the way the law in Florida stands now, you’re required to wear a helmet.

If you’re over 21, you’re not. Of course, if you’re not wearing a helmet, you’re much more likely to get serious injury to your head, possibly to your neck. Those are two very important differences.
