Actually, you would not have to pay anything up front to your attorney. You would have a contingency fee agreement with the attorney, which basically means that the agreement is that any fee going to attorney would not be paid until the end of the case. It would come from the money recovered in your case. You wouldn’t actually be paying anything out of pocket. If no money is recovered, then the attorney would not be paid. Whatever amount is recovered, the attorney would get 33 and a third percent prior to the lawsuit being filed of that money recovered. If there is a lawsuit filed, because there would be more work obviously, then the amount would be 40% of the total amount recovered.
