How long do I have to file an accident case?

Transcription

In Florida, there’s something called the Statute of Limitations, which determines the period of time you have to file an accident case. Other cases can be as short as one year, can be as long as five years, depends on the type of case. In most accident cases, it’s usually four years, so therefore you have a four-year deadline to file the lawsuit. If you miss the deadline, and your case is then filed, the judge would most likely dismiss your case for missing the deadline. You should definitely see an attorney about this, because this is a very important issue. You don’t want to have a great case and lose it, because you missed the deadline of filing a lawsuit.
